Shoppers in fight in supermarket

A CANTERBURY supermarket has been closed for the day after a fight between shoppers.

The incident, involving a 73-year-old man, occurred in the underground car park of Safeway in St George's Place, although police have also taped off an aisle inside the shop.

It all happened just before 1pm and a queue of customers formed outside.

KM-fm's Ben Biddulph, who was on the scene, said that an elderly man was led away with blood streaming from his mouth.
