Police appeal after assault

Police are appealing for information after a 62-year-old man was assaulted outside a fish and chip shop in Sturry Road, Canterbury.

He was approached by two teenage males who asked him for a cigarette. When the man said no he was assaulted, suffering a cut to his face and pain to his stomach.

The two suspects are both described as being white, aged between 17 and 19 and of medium build. One is said to be around 5ft 4ins and was wearing blue jogging bottoms, a green sweatshirt and a baseball cap. The other is 5ft 8ins and was wearing blue jogging bottoms, a blue hooded top and a baseball cap.

The incident happened at 8pm on Saturday, January 24.
