No serious injuries were reported, but a 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.

Police say the suspect remains in custody.

Canterbury’s Wilko store – which sits next to the roundabout – remains open but will close by the start of October as the company’s dramatic collapse takes shape.

Stores in Ashford and Folkestone close today, while the chain left Westwood Cross and Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday.

Anyone who witnessed the incident and has yet to speak to officers should call police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/164704/23.
