Teachers, nurses and students will be among those joining the living dead in a zombie crawl through Herne Bay this Saturday.

More than 100 gruesome-looking creatures are expected to stagger through the streets in one of only three crawls across the country.

Halloween fanatic Gerald McCarthy – who organised the event – says there’s still time to get involved.

He said: “It’s definitely not too late. We already have people from all walks of life who are coming along and turning into zombies for charity.

“We also have lots of families taking part and kids are already getting their make-up and costumes ready for the big event.

“We are even getting messages of support from people from the United States who are following the crawl and its promotional videos online.

"Hopefully we have a great turn out and can create a truly post-apocalyptic scene. It's going to be loads of fun."

The crawl will set off from William Street car park at 7pm and weave through the town to the seafront.
