Chris Smith celebrates her success in the My Number's Up competition with kmfm DJ Neil Redding

Lucky Chris Smith from Maidstone is the winner of kmfm's My Number's Up competition - and took home a brand new Peugeot 107.

Chris, of Blacksmith Drive, was one of 40 finalists from across the county who attended the winners' party at Robin and Day Peugeot dealership in Canterbury which donated the car.

kmfm DJ Neil Redding broadcasted the prize draw live on the network from the dealership on Saturday.

Upon winning, Chris said: "I can't believe it, I never win anything and I needed a new car."

She will swap the Peugeot for her Mazda Demio.

The My Number's Up competition also raised £2,600 for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity. Texts to kmfm to enter the competition cost £1.50 with £1 of each going to the charity.

Neil said: "A brand new car was a fantastic prize donated by Robins and Day and it is brilliant charity which cares for people in their final years.

"The winner was great as well and it was nice to see all our kmfm listeners in one place."

Malcolm Steatham, the dealer principal at Robins and Day in Canterbury, and kmfm head of radio Steve Fountain will be raising even more money for Marie Curie when they trek to Mount Kilamanjaro in July.
