Police appeal after Canterbury bus station homophobic assault by woman

A hunt has been launched for a suspect after a homophobia-motivated assault at a bus station.

The victim was reportedly approached by a woman at Canterbury bus station, who became verbally and then physically abusive towards him.

She is said to have shot homophobic comments towards the man before punching him.

The incident occurred at the bus station in St George’s Lane between 10.40pm and 11.15pm on May 31.

Following investigations to date, police have identified three men, who helped the victim before he caught the bus home, as witnesses that they wish to hear from.

Officers are also appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.
