Barn fires tackled in Adisham Road, Aylesham and Cooting Lane, Adisham,

Firefighters are at the scene of a second barn fire in the same area in just 24 hours.

They are currently tackling a blaze which started in loose straw and spread to a barn in Adisham Road, Aylesham.

Crews used hose reel jets and the cold cut firefighting system to suppress and put out the fire utilising near by hydrants. Firefighters are still at the scene at the scene.

Yesterday afternoon they tackled another fire in a large barn containing 100 bales of hay in nearby Cooting Lane, Adisham which started shortly after 4pm.

Crews used three main jets to bring the fire under control and prevent it spreading.

They remained at the scene damping down and ensuring it did not re-ignite until well into the evening.

The cause of both fires is unknown.
