Andy Pratt says Canterbury players have earned their festive break but warns there is plenty more work to do if they are to complete their march to the National 3 London & South East title.

Saturday’s convincing win over second-placed Tonbridge Juddians made it 14 wins from 14 league games this season and took them 14 points clear at the top of the table.

However, head coach Pratt says they cannot rest on their laurels during their three-week break.

He said: "There is a long way to go but we are in a good position. The players deserve all the credit.

"We have a lot of tough games left and have not won anything yet."

He added: "The performance against Tonbridge was pleasing and watching it back on video after was even better. We’ve not been at the races in the past couple of weeks but we were excellent on Saturday when it mattered."

Pratt revealed he’ll trust his players to look after themselves over Christmas. He said: "This is a good chance for the players to stay away from the club and have a break.

"We’ll have them in for a session before new year and then get back to business the following week before the game at Tring (on January 7)."
