Canterbury City Football Club have taken steps to strengthen their squad ahead of their debut season in Vandanel Kent County League Premier Division.

Four new players are now on the books including midfielder Craig Southern (ex-Hythe Town), goalkeeper Rob Lindley (formerly of Dover Athletic and Faversham), defender Ryan Harker (ex-Margate) and Ian Bishop, a midfield signing formerly of Welling United.

Fairclough has had to say goodbye to Calum McGeehan (pictured) who has signed for Ilford in the Ryman League Division 1 North, and he stated that another of the club’s players is attracting interest from a local Ryman League outfit.

City began their pre-season campaign on Saturday with a 6-2 defeat against Maidstone United and then lost 5-0 to Margate on Tuesday.

But they will have a chance to make amends when they take on Rye Town at Bridge Rec on Saturday, kick-off is at 3pm.
