Person hit by train between Lewisham and Sidcup

Train services were cancelled after a person was hit by a train.

Emergency services were called to the line between Lewisham and Sidcup shortly before midday.

Disruption continued until around 3.45pm.

Southeastern confirmed there were no services running through Sidcup after the electric current to trains was switched off.

A spokesman explained customers could still use their tickets on London buses between Lewisham and Dartford.

The Southeastern spokesman added: "A person has been hit by a train between Lewisham and Sidcup.

"As the emergency services attend to the incident, trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised."

There is also planned engineering work between Sidcup and Dartford, with buses replacing trains.

British Transport Police (BTP) has been contacted for more information.
