Greatstone Primary School girls’ football team are through to the South East finals of the English Schools’ 7-a-side tournament.

After winning their district qualifier, Greatstone took part in the Kent finals at Dover last month.

They won two of their three group matches to qualify for the semi-finals, where they beat Roseacre PS from Maidstone 1-0 thanks to a goal Emma Gunton.

Their final opponents were Burnt Oak from Bexley. The match was goalless after extra-time and Greatstone won the penalty shootout 2-1.

The South East finals are at Greenwich on March 28.
