Young man stabbed in street

A young man was stabbed as he walked through Folkestone.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident in the Old High Street.

It happened soon after midnight when the 23-year-old victim was walking with two friends.

The group was approached by two other young men, there was an argument and the man was stabbed in the knee with a knife and fell to the floor. The two other men ran off and the police were called.

The man was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford were he received treatment for a two-centimetre deep cut to his knee. He has since been discharged.

The two young men have been described as in their late teens and off medium build.

Officers investigating this assault on February 15 would like to speak to anyone who has information.
