Lewis Fuller becomes an ambassador for the Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity

A young cancer survivor and magician has become an ambassador for the charity that helped grant his wish after falling seriously ill as a child.

Lewis Fuller was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer when he was 10 years old.

During his time spent in hospital, he played with a magic kit that his father bought him to help take his mind off the treatment.

The 20-year-old has been in remission from cancer for almost 10 years and works as a professional magician with his solo entertainment company, The Singing Magician.

He has met a number of famous faces throughout his performing career, including Holly Willoughby, Pixie Lott and Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York.

Rays of Sunshine is a charity that helps brighten up the lives of seriously ill children by granting wishes and organising outings.

In 2009, the London-based charity granted his wish to go to Disneyworld Florida.

Over the past year, Lewis has spent time volunteering for the charity and performing magic tricks for children in hospices and hospital wards.

Now he has become an ambassador for the charity that helped him as a child.

Mr Fuller, who is originally from Biddenden said: "It’s great to be able to give back to the charity in some way, especially as I can relate to what many of the children in hospital are going through.

"It’s amazing to be able to come in and bring a smile and joy to the children I meet through the power of magic.

"To be asked to become an Ambassador for the charity means a huge deal to me and I’m really proud of my new role.”

Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine said: “We’re so honoured to announce Lewis as an official Ambassador.

"Everyone who meets Lewis is incredibly inspired by his story and we are so grateful that he is now offering to use his bravery and talents in magic to help other seriously ill children get through difficult times.”
