Big name comedians are coming to the Rain nightclub in Ashford.

Comedy nights will run on the first Friday of the month at the Eureka Park venue - formerly Strawberry Moons and M20 - with the first one being Friday, May 1.

Stuart Francis, who appears on television programme Mock The Week, will be headlining, and Jeff Innocent will also do stand-up.

Richard Herring, who used to be part of Lee and Herrring, will come to Ashford in June.

Andy Walker, who presents the breakfast show on kmfm for Maidstone is one of three people organising the comedy nights.

He said: “We went to a comedy night in London which was rubbish. We got together and thought: lets give Kent a comedy night, and we’ve decided on Ashford as the town as it’s easy to get to from all over the county. We’re

trying to lift spirits of Kent”

Doors open at 7.30pm, comedy starts at 9pm and there is a disco from 11pm to 2am.
