Xanadu Boutique to open new outlet in Ashford town centre's County Square shopping mall

A sexy lingerie shop will open in Ashford town centre this week.

A second outlet of Xanadu Boutique, which is in the town's High Street, will open in the former Thorntons unit in the County Square shopping centre on Saturday.

It will sell brands Chilirose and Casmir, for which Xanadu is the UK distributor.

The new store will differ to the current Xanadu as it will sell lingerie, bikinis, summer dresses and hosiery, leaving the existing store to sell adult toys, accessories and lubricants.

Owner Jacqui Singer, 52, from Kennington, Ashford, said: “There will be something for everyone. Casmir is very elegant and alluring and Chilirose is sexy with attitude.

“It won’t offend anyone. There won’t be any sex toys on show.

“We need to make it clear, there will be a difference between the shops.

"There won’t be anything you don’t see in Debenhams.

"Just beautiful lingerie, which Ashford needs.”

Xanadu area manager Ashlie Rockey added: “It will be nice for women to have somewhere in Ashford that they can go and buy something that will make them feel good. We can cater for that.

“If you feel good, it shows. We want to help women feel more confident.”

Three job opportunities have been created with the opening of the new shop, two full-time and one part-time.

The launch party for the shop will kick off at noon and will include a performance from singer Jaden Cornelious.

Mrs Singer added: “Everyone is invited to the opening. There will be nibbles, bubbly and guest appearances.

“It will be a shop people want to spend time in. It will be like every women’s ideal walk-in wardrobe.”
