Prosecutors sent new evidence in Damian Green inquiry

THE Metropolitan Police has sent more evidence to prosecutors who will decide whether to bring any charges against the Ashford MP Damian Green.

The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed it has received more evidence in the case and is expecting to receive more before deciding whether to press charges.

Mr Green was arrested in November in connection with a Home Office leaks inquiry. He has was held and quizzed for nine hours and his homes in Kent and London, along with his constituency association offices in Bethersden were all searched.

He has strenuously denied any wrong-doing.

The CPS said no decision would be made until the police had sent it all the evidence associated with its inquiry.

Mr Green has been bailed until February.
