An e-fit of man police are seeking following an assault in Victoria Park, Ashfordnt

Police have issued an efit image of a man they are seeking following an assault on a cycle path in Ashford.

The incident happened between Victoria Park and Beaver Road on Wednesday, June 11, shorty after 6.30pm.

A 52-year-old local man was walking along the path when he was approached by two women and two men.

As they passed him, one of the men lashed out, striking him on the right side of his face. The group continued to walk away and stopped by the footbridge, talking.

The attacker is described as white, aged 19-20 , 5ft 7in, slim with cropped dark brown hair and clean-shaven. He was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and white T-shirt-type top.

The man with him was white, 5ft 6in. He was wearing a white T-shirt and dark trousers.

The first woman was white, 16-17, stocky and was wearing a salmon pink top and the second was white with long hair.

The injured man suffered a large lump and reddening above his right eye.

Police believe a cyclist who was in the area at the time may have information that will help the investigation, and have asked him to come forward.
