Dad wants to thank girls who helped his injured son

A grateful dad is hoping to personally thank the three mystery schoolgirls who helped his son, who has learning difficulties, after he was injured in an accident.

Son Darren Evans, 40, came off his bike after colliding with another bicycle on the corner of Elwick Road and Church Road in Ashford at about 4pm on Friday.

Darren’s glasses broke, causing a gash that needed stitches.

The three girls, who it is believed could be Highworth School students, called an ambulance and stayed with Mr Evans until paramedics arrived.

Dad Richard Evans said: “In an age when teenagers, especially girls, get lots of bad press I want to make people aware of this act of kindness.

“I’m grateful to them and would like to thank them and make a donation to their school.”
